全車指定席

What it means

A train on which every car is a reserved seat, so there are no non-reserved cars. Some operators write it 全席指定席 instead.

Watch for

On such a train a non-reserved ticket does not guarantee a seat. If it is full, a standing ticket (立席特急券) may be sold on some Shinkansen.
