limited express ticket
What it means
The extra ticket for riding a limited express train. A Shinkansen needs one too, whatever its name. It pays for the train service; the basic fare ticket pays for the distance.
Watch for
It comes as a reserved-seat ticket or a non-reserved ticket. The reserved one costs more, and its price changes with the season.
