車廂與座位
On the eight-car Hikari Rail Star, the open saloon seating in cars 4–8 is two abreast on either side. Car 8 also has four-person ordinary-class compartments, but JR West suspends their sale from 1 December 2026. For a power socket, JR West lists the front row of cars 5–8.
