Winter protection inside the drivetrain

Cooling air passes through a snow-separating blower; the motor exhaust cover also resists snow and meltwater entry. The 1981 specification is a launch-era design, not a claim about every later rebuilt set.

Inside the train

A close look at the three-seat bank in preserved car 222-35 reveals how it could turn within a 980 mm row pitch. The end armrests stay in place while the seating section rotates. Early 200-series seats had a different arrangement.
